Why is the "deposit" product available in the store?

In the MBG Amber Room, we want to offer you full cost transparency. For certain drinks - especially bottles and cans - you are legally obliged to pay a deposit. To make the ordering process as clear and comprehensible as possible for you, the deposit is shown separately in the shopping cart and appears there as a separate "product". This allows you to see at a glance what costs are incurred for the actual item and how much deposit is charged in addition.

What does this mean for your order?

  • The deposit product is not a physical item and will not be shipped.

  • It cannot be purchased individually or added to the shopping cart.

  • The deposit amount is automatically taken into account for all beverages subject to deposit in the shopping cart and displayed transparently.

  • After returning your empty bottles or cans, you will receive the deposit back at your local return system (e.g. supermarket, beverage store).

What is a deposit actually?

A deposit is a legally stipulated surcharge on certain packaging - usually bottles and cans - to encourage their return and recycling. The deposit system serves to protect the environment: it ensures that recyclable materials are reused and the environment is relieved of unnecessary waste.

How does the deposit system work?

  • Products subject to a deposit: Mainly disposable and reusable drinks packaging such as PET bottles, glass bottles and drinks cans.

  • Deposit amount: Usually €0.25 per disposable packaging; for reusable packaging often €0.08 or €0.15 depending on the container.

  • Return & refund: Empty packaging can be returned to all return points in Germany (supermarkets, drinks retailers, vending machines) and the deposit will be refunded.

  • Legal basis: The deposit is regulated in the Packaging Act and serves to promote recycling and environmental protection.

Cancellation policy for consumers for a contract in which the goods are delivered in a single delivery

Cancellation policy

A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly outside their trade, business or profession.

Right of withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day on which you or a third party named by you, who is not the carrier, took possession of the goods. To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (MBG International Premium Brands GmbH) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter sent by post, fax or e-mail). You can use the attached sample withdrawal form, but this is not mandatory. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your notification of exercising your right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Consequences of revocation

If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, excluding the costs of delivery, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. For this repayment, we will use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or until you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest. You must return or hand over the goods to us immediately and in any case within fourteen days at the latest from the day on which you inform us of the revocation of this contract. The deadline is met if you send the goods before the period of fourteen days has expired. You shall bear the direct costs of returning the goods.

You only have to pay for any loss in value of the goods if this loss in value is due to handling of the goods that is not necessary for checking their condition, properties and functionality.
